Sixteen year-old Eagle Scout Barry Jordan is one in a million - literally.
As the winner of the prestigious William T. Hornaday award, Jordan represents less than one percent of his fellow boy scouts nationwide. With the help of his troop, and the backing of Santa Rosa County Commissioners, Jordan launched a massive coastal conservation effort designed to protect and preserve the resident sea turtle population on Navarre Beach, and in the process, met the criteria for the rare award. Though he also earned a merit badge for public speaking the same evening he learned of the award, Jordan was speechless.
