The Draft Tri-County Growth Management Plan, a study to help local communities respond to the growth at Eglin AFB resulting from the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure commission decisions is available online at www.tri-countybrac.com. Local citizens are encouraged to review the draft document attend one of the public workshops that will be conducted in the coming weeks.

The 2005 Base Realignment and Closure Commission decisions named Eglin as the recipient of two significant new missions, namely the relocation of the U.S. Army’s 7th Special Forces Group from Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and the stand up of the new F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Integrated Training Center. To assist local communities who stand to be impacted by this growth, the Department of Defense Office of Economic Adjustment has stepped in to provide technical and financial assistance with local planning efforts.
