Fires in Navarre, Midway extinguish first candles on safety tree

A fire at a mobile home located in the 2700 block of Teepee Road in Navarre on Monday marked the third candle extinguished on the “Keep Your Holidays Bright” fire safety tree.

Santa Rosa County Emergency Communications received a call at approximately 5:07 p.m. reporting smoke and fire in the structure’s attic.  Holley-Navarre Fire District, Midway Fire District and Navarre Beach fire department responded.  The two adults and two teenagers evacuated the home unharmed and will stay with neighbors until power can be restored. The State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire, which is believed to have started on the back porch and caused moderate damage to the home.
