Around 8:23 p.m., Holley-Navarre firefighters, as well as firefighters from the Midway Fire District station 37, were called to a reported garage fire in the 6800 block of Avenida de Galvez on Oct. 18.

Upon arrival, Ron Norton, Holley-Navarre fire chief, observed a fully involved detached garage fire with exposures to a neighbor’s vehicle and garage. Immediately, a hand-line was established to put out the exposed fire and keep it from spreading. It was reported under control 10 minutes after being on scene and completely extinguished by 9 p.m. While there was no damage to the home, the garage, approximately 800 square feet, and its contents were totally destroyed. A 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe and 2008 Honda Ridgeline were also destroyed in the blaze.The Florida State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating.
