Santa Rosa County has received a planning grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency – FEMA – through the Flood Mitigation Assistance program to develop a countywide flood mitigation plan.
Flooding this spring emphasized the need to develop a flood mitigation plan, according to a county news release. A mitigation plan will help the county secure grant funding that will further protect the community from flooding and could possibly result in lower flood insurance premiums for homeowners.
