FLORIDA LEGISLATORS WILL SOON PAY MORE FOR HEALTH INSURANCE
House Speaker Will Weatherford, who has come under fire for rejecting calls to expand the state's safety-net health care program to cover more Floridians, is going to require House members to pay more for their own insurance starting in January.

Attorney General Pam Bondi has apologized for asking to delay the scheduled execution of Marshall Lee Gore because the initial date picked by Gov. Rick Scott conflicted with a campaign fundraiser. Her office released two brief emails from August. One email to Bondi's chief of staff says "the families have been contacted and are okay."
PETITION CHALLENGES SCHOOL NAMED AFTER KKK LEADER
A petition on Change.org asks Duval Public Schools to change the name of Nathan B. Forrest High School, a mostly black Jacksonville, Fla., high school named after an early Ku Klux Klan leader. The petition has gathered nearly 90,000 signatures. But district spokeswoman says the policy for changing school names does not include online petitions.
WINTER'S TANK MATE DIES
Panama, the Clearwater Marine Aquarium's oldest dolphin that is widely recognized as the adopted mother of Dolphin Tale movie star Winter, has died. Panama was close to 40 years old when she died Wednesday. The average lifespan of a dolphin in the wild is about 25 years.
OFFICERS GATHER FOR K-9 FUNERAL
Law enforcement across South Florida gathered to remember Max, a highly-decorated police dog killed in the line of duty. He had worked for the Miami Gardens Police Department since 2009.
