Keep wallets close, credit cards closer

On a day when a light grocery trip was in order, Wagoner had no idea that her wallet and identity would be taken from her and that thousands of dollars would be charged to her accounts.

“I was shopping at Publix when my wallet was stolen,”  Wagoner said.  “Three thousand dollars was taken, they wiped out my husband’s checking account and within 20 minutes of stealing it, they had gone to Dillard’s and were purchasing almost $1,000 worth of gift cards.”
