Sidewalk extension on county agenda

The Santa Rosa County Commission will meet at 9 a.m. Monday, Jan. 5, at the Administrative Complex boardroom at 6495 Caroline St. in Milton.

Some topics on the agenda include sharing costs with the Santa Rosa County School District to extend a sidewalk from Navarre High School to Pawnee Drive. The county will provide labor and equipment and the school board will reimburse the county up to $30,000 for material. The school board approved the agreement Dec. 11.The commission is also set to discuss establishing a transportation impact fee waiver for disabled veterans. The commission in June 2007 asked staff to develop impact fee waiver criteria for disabled veterans based on criteria used by other local governments for such waivers.Another topic on the agenda is the inaugural Run with the Zoo 5K Run/Walk on Navarre Beach, scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 9.
