A traffic accident on Bayshore Drive put one pedestrian in critical condition.
At 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, Kenneth Hodges, 56, of Gulf Breeze was attempting to cross State Road 30 at Bayshore Drive, according to the accident report.
Kelsey Campbell, 19, of Gulf Breeze was traveling west on the inside lane of State Road 30 when Hodges began walking in the roadway, stopped in the center of the road and ran into the west bound lane causing Campbell to skid and strike Hodges said the report.
Campbell’s vehicle then crossed the median striking Aaron Mongomery, 37, of Gulf Breeze, according to the report.
Hodges was transported to Baptist Hospital listed in critical condition. Campbell sustained minor injuries and was transported to Gulf Breeze Hospital, said the report.
Florida Highway Patrol estimated $7,000 of damage to Campbell’s 1999 Ford Mustang and $10,000 to Mongomery’s 2008 Ford F150, according to the report.
Charges are pending, according to Sgt. Steven Preston of Florida Highway Patrol. As are charges of the accident being alcohol related pending testing from Hodges.
Campbell was cleared from any alcohol related charges, said the report.
