TPO approves tentative work plan

Despite generally bad news for the Florida Department of Transportation’s Five-Year Work Plan, some area projects are moving ahead.

The Florida-Alabama Transportation Planning Organization on Dec. 10 approved a resolution supporting FDOT District 3’s tentative five-year work plan. Projects in Santa Rosa County include funding to replace a railroad bridge as part of the Avalon Boulevard widening project, resurfacing U.S. Highway 98, and performing maintenance and repairs to the Pensacola Bay Bridge (also known as the Three-Mile Bridge).

District Secretary Larry Kelley prepared TPO members for disappointment before the plan was presented.
