This affects all roads south of Lucian Ct. The notice is in response to a reported break in a six inch water line on Biscayne Blvd. A repair crew arrived on site at approximately 1:45 p.m., and repairs are expected to be completed in two to three hours.
Residents are advised to boil all water used for cooking, drinking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. Bottled water may be used as an alternative. Tap water can also be disinfected by adding eight drops of unscented household bleach to each gallon of water, then mixing the water and allowing it to stand for a minimum of 30 minutes.
The precautionary boil water notice will remain in effect until bacteriological samples show that the water is safe to drink.
