State regulators last week quietly signed off on a plan to let 10 different insurance companies take over nearly a third of the policies held by Citizens Property Insurance Corp. MAN BITTEN BY GATOR WHILE BUILDING DOCK
A north Florida man is recovering after being bitten by an alligator while working on a dock in Lake Jeffrey. The man was taken to a Gainesville hospital. State wildlife officials have issued a permit for a trapper to capture the gator.
TALKING PARROT MISSING IN MIAMI
Miami-Dade police are looking for a man who stole a talking macaw during a burglary. It was taken from a backyard earlier in August. The bird frequently says English and Spanish words.
