View More images >>A traffic accident at the intersection of Highway 98 and Sunrise Drive sent two people to the hospital with serious injuries and blocked traffic in both directions last Thursday afternoon.
While local fire departments and rescue crews worked to access the injured, Lifelight was called out to the scene of the accident, which happened at 4:45 p.m.
According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, the wreck involved a total of six vehicles, caused when a Dodge Ram truck driven by Casey Norris, 29, of Holt, failed to stop in time to avoid the line of cars stopped at the traffic light. Norris’ truck slammed into a Toyota Camry driven by Peter C. Mihm, 42, of Fort Walton Beach. Mihm and his passenger, Traci S. Griswold, 26, of Crestview, sustained serious injuries.
Drivers and passengers in the other four cars sustained only minor injuries.
Also involved in the chain-reaction wreck was a Dodge Caliber driven by Brendan J. Greene, 23, of Navarre; a Chrysler Sebring driven by Calista A. Wallick, 27, of Navarre, and a Chevy Silverado driven by Daryl P. Thibodaux, 40, of Cut Off, La. The sixth vehicle in the chain reaction was a Ford Fusion containing driver James R. Watson, 70, of Navarre, and passenger, Theresa C. Watson, 68, of Navarre.
