Florida law does not give citizens the right to speak at public meetings. Rep. Ray Rodrigues, R-Fort Myers, hopes to change that with House Bill 23, Public Meetings.
Rodrigues was elected in 2012 and he promised voters that if he was elected, it would be the first bill he would file.
The bill was filed, as he promised, on Dec. 6, 2012.
