Sheila Langman, 38, of Navarre, pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges she had a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old boy between July and September.
Langman, who was arrested Oct. 13 and is free on $50,000 bond but ordered to wear a GPS tracking device, is charged with lewd and lascivious battery in Santa Rosa County Circuit Court.
"She does plan to contest the accusations against her in court, she’s not going to try the case in the press," said defense attorney Tim Flaherty of Fort Walton Beach. "She’s lucky to have the love and support of her family and friends during this difficult time."
Flaherty said pre-trial conference and docket dates had not been set in Langman’s case.
Langman was on the Navarre Youth Sports Association's board of directors, but NYSA suspended her and Santa Rosa County changed her volunteer status from "active" to "pending" after her arrest. She will not be allowed to participate in county programs, including NYSA programs, involving minors until she passes a new background check
