Representatives of the Holley-Navarre, Midway and Navarre Beach fire districts are expected to meet before the end of the year to discuss consolidation.
“I’d rather get into it before the holidays to get something going,” Midway Fire Commission Chairman Jacque Gorris said at Tuesday’s regular meeting of that board. He asked Fire Chief Jonathan Kanzigg to try to schedule a meeting with the other districts’ commissioners at 9 a.m. Nov. 22. The Midway commission agreed Santa Rosa County commissioners and other officials representing the South End should be invited, as well as representatives from the Gulf Breeze Fire Department and Lifeguard Ambulance and members of the state delegation.
