Officials express RESTORE concerns

Local and state officials are concerned about the allocation of RESTORE Act funds amid news reports that the federal government could have more control over the BP fine money instead of the Gulf States affected by the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
During an Oct. 8 Santa Rosa County Commission meeting, Commissioner Bob Cole mentioned that Rep. Jim Miller was in town recently and spoke about the possibility of the fine money being moved from under the Clean Water Act to Natural Resource Damage Assessment.
