George McCormick has filed charges with the state attorney’s office against incumbent Santa Rosa County Superintendent of Schools Tim Wyrosdick alleging that Wyrosdick violated Florida campaign finance laws.
McCormick, who is running against Wyrosdick in this year’s election, said that Wyrosdick knowingly accepted a cash donation from one of the county’s school administrators, Brad Marcilliat, principal of Jay High School.
“He has admitted the cash donation,” said McCormick.
Florida statute prohibits any one person from making cash donations in excess of $50 to any individual campaign in a single election cycle.
