Pier audit finds repeat discrepancies

The yearly audit reviewing the Navarre Beach Fishing Pier gate collections revealed repeated discrepancies and improvements from the previous year’s audit.

On June 14, Wade Burroughs, internal auditor for Santa Rosa County, released the review of pier gate collections. According to the lease agreement between The Pier, Inc. and the county, a review of pier gate collections is allowable to determine that all applicable admission fees are being collected and remitted to the county.
