Sequestration is a word rolling off the lips of important individuals in Washington, D.C., including Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey, Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, and Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-South Carolina.
It’s also a word that is looming over the Department of Defense and has many worried, especially those in the military. Sequestration extends from the deficit reduction Super Committee, a bipartisan group of 12 lawmakers from both the House and the Senate that met late last year to devise a plan to reduce the deficit.
