A series of brush fires kept the firefighters from Holley-Navarre Fire District out until the early hours of the morning April 10.
The call reporting the first of five fires came in at roughly 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday night. Firefighters responded to the call at Navarre Parkway and Ortega Street where the encountered two small brush fires. As they were finishing the clean-up from those fires, a second call came in.
The crew then headed out to the woods behind 2116 Ortega St. at 10:51 p.m. where yet another fire was set. HNFD had no sooner put the fire out at that location when they were called to a fourth fire, this time at 2221 Ortega St.
