A chimney fire spread to the void space above a home on Sierra Avenue in Navarre Thursday night.
Firefighters from Holley Navarre Fire Department as well as Navarre Beach and Florosa responded to the blaze which spread through the chimney of the home and into the attic space.
The call came in to dispatch at 6:55 p.m. and HNFD crews were on the scene within minutes. HNFD Chief Ron Norton said that no one was hurt during the fire, but the double trailer home of Sharon Barnes sustained heavy damage.
“I started hauling things out,” Barnes said, “I didn’t know if (the second trailer) was going to go up, too.”
The fire on Sierra was the third fire in Santa Rosa County on Dec. 1, which the county’s Keep Your Holidays Bright safety campaign. The first fire was in Pace early Thursday morning; the second was in Skyline at about 3 p.m.
