RV resort opening delayed

Five years after the purchase of Sound-view land along U.S. Highway 98, former Florida Sen. Charles Clary is hoping to make good on his investment.

What initially was planned as a development of mixed-use residential with retail on the ground floor has become the St. Rosa RV Resort; a place Clary has billed as an “upscale RV resort” where RV motorists can “bring their condo” and “enjoy the environment” – the opposite of the typical parks travelers see along the interstate.

The land, comprised of 12 parcels, was bought in 2004 and 2006. Ten parcels were purchased from Soundview Properties Inc. by Vic’s of Navarre, LLC in 2004; the remaining two lots were purchased from a private citizen by Navarre 33, Inc in 2006.
