The Pier, Inc. will continue to only pay $250 a month for electricity and water for the Pier Bar after the Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners agreed not to make any changes to the current lease agreement with The Pier Inc.
Commissioner Bob Cole said even though Dorothy Slye wasn’t his first management choice for the pier, she had done a great job making money for the county. He said a $1,400 difference in the electricity bill wasn’t much considering Slye gives 100 percent of the gate fees to the county.
“We could not place a county employee at that gate for $1,500 a month,” he said.
