Goode dismissed from water board

Mark Goode was recently terminated from the Holley-Navarre Water System board of directors after three employees filed complaints against him for alleged inappropriate behavior.

Ken Walker, general manager of the Holley-Navarre Water System said Goode was terminated during a June 22 called-meeting. It was the first time in 40 years a board member has been removed from the board, Walker said. The meeting was conducted according to the board’s bylaws, which requires the board to take action within five days of receiving a complaint.

All the complainants were present during the meeting to state their cases before the board made its decision. Walker said the minutes of the meeting were not available for the public because of possible litigation and attorney-client privilege between the board and its lawyer.

“The problem I saw with the process is this is a member-elected seat, but there was no member notification given for members to attend and observe,” Goode said.
