Santa Rosa County Schools were recognized by the Florida Department of Education as being a top performing district in the state.
Santa Rosa is one of only 13 school districts that have consistently received an A since the state began grading districts in 2004. The grading formula takes into account student performance in reading, writing, mathematics, science and student learning gains from last year.
Education Commissioner John L. Winn today recognized some of Florida’s highest performing school districts for either maintaining or improving their district grade to an “A” or having all “A” or “B” graded schools in 2011.
