The Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners approved a process for revising or removing the Navarre Town Center Plan.
During the commission’s July 28 meeting, Commission Chairman Lane Lynchard said the process would include three state-required public hearings. He wanted to make it clear that the Town Center plan was a citizen initiative.
He said the county was considering revising or removing the Town Center regulatory provisions from its land development ordinance because of the current citizen input.
Beckie Cato, county planning and zoning director, sent commissioners a memo outlining the proposed process for moving forward with changes to the Town Center plan. According to Cato, the Heart of Navarre Overlay District, the Town Center 1 and 2 zoning districts and the Navarre Architectural review board were the only aspects of the Town Center plans that would be under review.
