Santa Rosa County Board of County Commissioners approved extending its contract with Lifeguard Ambulance Services for 10 years.
Before approving the contract extension during a July 28 meeting, Commissioner Jim Melvin said he would like more of a commitment from Lifeguard to expand its operation in Santa Rosa County.
“Right now the deal is going your way,” he said. “I’d like a commitment from you guys, and I don’t think that’s too much to ask.”
Jason Kimbrell, Lifeguard operations manager, said Lifeguard was already in the beginning stages of expanding its fleet maintenance operation in Milton, which would create additional jobs in the community. Lifeguard also is conceptually thinking about an additional business that would increase profits and provide more jobs, but Kimbrell said the company does not have enough land for the project.
