Large dog owners have a new place to go and hang out with other owners and make play dates for their pooches.
Santa Rosa County Commissioner Jim Melvin funded the dog park improvements with district four recreation funds and said it was important to make these changes because the community needed a bigger dog park.
“We didn’t have a large dog park and we needed one badly. We had a park adequate for small dogs and basically a dog pen. The community needed one,” said Melvin.
