Too dry for fireworks

Three acres of thick woods burned in the area between Manatee and Loysburg Streets in Holley by the Sea July 7Fireworks are believed to be the cause of a three-acre fire July 7 in Holley by the Sea between Manatee and Loysburg Streets.

Holley Navarre Fire District Chief Ron Norton said the Department of Agriculture was interviewing two men, ages 18 and 19, about their usage of fireworks which may have caused the fire.

No names have been released because the investigation is ongoing.

The fire did not damage any houses; it went through about three acres of an undeveloped area that was thick woods.
