Bobby Wayne Turman, 36, of Navarre, was sentenced on June 30 to life in state prison without parole by Judge David Rimmer.
Turman was found guilty of three counts of sexual battery on a child and three counts of sexual battery while in a position of familial or custodial authority on June 3 after the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office concluded their investigation and arrested him on April 9, 2010.
The crimes began in 1999 after the child had been placed in to foster care after being sexually abused in Texas, according to a press release issued by the office of State Attorney Bill Eddins, which prosecuted Turman. The abuse in Santa Rosa County continued for seven years.
