No bailout for the Garcon Point Bridge

There will be no state bailout of the Santa Rosa Bay Bridge.

The Florida Department of Transportation Secretary Ananth Prasad said last week that the financially ailing bridge – otherwise known as the Garcon Point Bridge – would still be maintained by the FDOT.

“Make no mistake, we will not bailout this investment by the bondholders,” said Prasad.  “However, let me be clear: FDOT will continue to safely operate and maintain the Garcon Point Bridge.”
