The noise of the jet engines is nothing new to the Emerald Coast, but the F-35A Joint Strike Fighter is louder, faster, and more technologically advanced than anything currently flying overhead.
The F-35A is on its way to Eglin Air Force Base and the area is ready for the challenges ahead.
WSRE hosted a round table on June 30 to discuss the Air Force’s newest fighter jet and its impact on the community, economically and socially.
Joining host Lloyd Patterson were Lockheed Martin Vice President J.R. McDonald, Okaloosa County Commissioner Wayne Harris, as well as Jodi Parker, School Liaison Officer for Eglin AFB.
