The waiting is the hardest part.
Ask any military spouse, and they will confirm that to be true; waiting for the airmen to return home is the most difficult part of any deployment. For roughly 140 families at Hurlburt Field, the wait was finally over on July 2.
Operation Homecoming once again welcomed returning service members coming back from various deployments across the globe. Red carpet, a sea of American flags, and more than a few teary-eyed smiles greeted the airmen.
The Wellman family of Navarre was front and center as they awaited the aircraft that would bring dad, Brian home after seven months.
