Smokin’ in the boys room

Authorities believe the fire in the men’s restroom of the Navarre High School baseball field locker room was deliberately set.

Holley-Navarre Fire District, as well as firefighters from Navarre Beach, Midway and Florosa, responded to the scene Thursday morning, June 23.

Holley Navarre Fire Chief Ron Norton said there was no other electricity or heat source in the restroom.
“Somebody unrolled a bunch of paper towels and set fire to them,” said Norton.

He also said there was major smoke damage and minor fire damage to the restroom and minor smoke damage throughout the facility.
