During a routine fire safety inspection at Navarre High School, Joe Early, fire inspector for the Holley-Navarre Fire District, noticed smoke coming from the field house.
Early immediately called Fire Chief Ron Norton, who then called four area fire departments to respond to the scene.
Norton said the fire was suspicious because school is out and no one should have been in there.
The incident happened Thursday morning, June 23, and no one was injured.
Navarre Press will post more information as it becomes available.
