Helicopter tours may be coming to Navarre

Tourists vacationing in Santa Rosa County may soon be able to add helicopter tours to their list of available activities.

Though Santa Rosa County Commissioners did not immediately approve rezoning an area next to Navarre Water Sports for a heliport, they were intrigued as they offered to re-direct Water Sports owners Kirk Bergeron and Justin Johnson to the right judicial board.

Navarre Water Sports is located on U.S. Highway 98 between Best Western of Navarre and Helen Back Again.

“They’re good to go across the board with everything but the helicopter rides. That’s why the issue is before us today,” said Commissioner Jim Melvin during the commissioners’ May 26 meeting.
