Navarre’s zip code marks largest Santa Rosa population

In 2000, Navarre’s zip code had 20,967 people. In 2010, the U.S. Census Bureau counted 37,473, the largest population of any zip code in Santa Rosa County and some surrounding areas.

With the rise in population numbers, some community members are wondering why they have not seen an increase in retail and restaurant franchises. However, local business experts say there is more to opening a franchise or additional location than population.

According to Shannon Ogletree, associate director of TEAM Santa Rosa, an organization that works to bring in and keep major industries, companies look at the labor force that may be available to support the industry.
