School Board meeting highlights commitment to employee wellness

Jim Greenwood, a mechanic with the transportation repair shop, told the school board how a routine screening provided by the district caught his high blood pressure and potentially saved his life.The Santa Rosa County School Board meeting was held on April 14 with topics including the district’s commitment to employee wellness on the agenda.

The district has partnered with Virgin HealthMiles program, an employee incentive program that pays participants who make healthy lifestyle changes. The program is also run in conjunction with the health insurance company, Blue Cross Blue Shield, which provides its own wellness support through its Better Blue for You campaign.
