Mature Driver’s Act suffers setbacks

A bill called The Mature Driver’s Act suffered defeat this legislative session, but its sponsors remain committed to seeing legislation passed that would raise the minimum age for a driver’s license to 17.

The legislation had bipartisan support from state Senator Thad Altman (R) and state Representatives John Julien (D) and Rep. Irving Slosberg (D).
