At the Santa Rosa County Commissioner’s meeting April 11 citizens stood up to give their opinion on the future of the Navarre Town Center plan as commissioners discussed whether it should be shelved for better days or modified with public input.
The idea behind the plan was to set up rules and regulations for Navarre, specifically for the heart of Navarre and the Town Center District. If businesses were in that area they would have to abide by the regulations delineated in the plan so that the main area of Navarre would have a cohesive look similar to other tourist destinations. The plan also had guidelines for infrastructure such as sidewalks, sewer and drainage systems and more.
