NB fire board questions water safety responsibility

Navarre Beach firefighters won’t ignore swimmers in distress, but their directors do want a better understanding of the department’s responsibilities.

“Who is ultimately responsible for public safety?” asked Ken Rudzki, treasurer for the Navarre Beach Volunteer Fire Department Inc. Board of Directors, at the  April 6 meeting. “That’s never been answered. I don’t think it’s the volunteer fire department.”
