Luke Steven Giese, 18, a Navarre High School student, was arrested March 22 for nine counts of felony burglary, three counts of felony larceny and six counts of misdemeanor larceny.
Sergeant Scott Haines, Public Information officer for the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office, said Giese went down two streets in his neighborhood and tried every unlocked car on those streets.
“We can’t preach it enough for people to lock their cars. This type of crime is one of the most victim assisted crimes there is,” said Haines. “People need to lock their cars.”
The first reported date for the vehicle break-ins was Feb. 7 and continued until Feb. 25. Giese’s bond is set at $45,000 and as of press time March 29, his bond had not been posted.
