Pensacola Bay Bridge replacement study gets underway

The battle for Pensacola Bay Bridge has resumed.
The Florida Department of Transportation has hired Rich, Smith & Hills Inc. to conduct a new project development and environment study for replacing the bridge, which opened in 1960. The department abandoned bridge replacement efforts several years ago when officials and residents from Gulf Breeze and Pensacola couldn’t agree on the bridge’s size and location.
