Easing back into the oversized leather recliner, Tami Volk gripped her tea cup and snuggled into her prayer quilt.
Above her, a nurse worked meticulously, connecting Volk’s metaport in her upper left breast to a medicinal IV drip beside her.
“It doesn’t hurt at all,” said Volk, smiling.
