Trash service in south Santa Rosa County probably won’t be mandatory — mandatory lite, maybe.
“The bad behavior of a few people is not good enough reason, in my mind, to put garbage service on the tax bill and force people to buy it,” Santa Rosa County Commission Chairman Lane Lynchard said Monday.
The commission is expected to decide whether to require residents to participate in a proposed single-provider solid-waste program, whether to require participation with some exemptions possible, and whether service providers should be required to use side-loading trucks at its meeting March 10. The meeting begins at 9 a.m. in the Commission Meeting Room, 6495 Caroline St., in Milton.
