Residents worry county ignoring trash, recycling concerns

Waste Management is one of two companies chosen by the Santa Rosa County Commission to provide residential solid-waste services in the county's south end.Residents were happy to talk trash with Santa Rosa County officials earlier this month, but now they wonder if those officials were listening.
"I'm convinced...that the county paid lip service to listening to us by having meetings in the South End," said Don Richards, United Peninsula Association president, at UPA's meeting Feb. 17. "They went back up [to Milton, the county seat] and did exactly what they wanted to do."
