Impact fees and a taste of sulfur

Ken Walker, General Manager of the Holley-Navarre Water Systems, Inc., spoke about impact fees, piping and other water concerns at the Feb. 15 meeting of the Navarre Area Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee.
Walker said rates are rising for several reasons, one being the deterioration of equipment. The PVC pipes used as the water system infrastructure are only expected to last about 40 years, and there are sections in this area that have 40-year-old pipes.
