Senator John McCain spoke at the winging ceremony at Naval Air Station Whiting Field Jan. 28.
McCain’s son was one of the student’s receiving the “Wings of Gold.” Left to right: Cmdr. Mathew Frost, Helicopter Training Squadron Twenty – eight commanding officer; Cmdr. Hans Sholley, Helicopter Training Squadron Eight commanding officer; Senator McCain; Lt. Col. Shawn Coakley, Helicopter Training Squadron Eighteen commanding officer; and Capt. James Vandiver, Training Air Wing Five commander.
