Santa Rosa County Supervisor of Elections Ann Bodenstein has announced she will not seek reelection next year. She has been the supervisor of elections since succeeding Doug Wilkes in 2004 but said, “It’s time to quit – I’ll be over 70 years old.”
Bodenstein said she announced early to avoid waiting until the last minute. She believes removing herself from the election race as a candidate this early will provide enough time for others to declare their intentions to run, giving the voters of Santa Rosa County the best selection possible.
